BUILD is a Norfolk based registered charity that supports adults, and young people with learning difficulties, and other disabilities. It is led by a peer elected trustee board formed mostly of adults with learning difficulties, and other disabilities.
Through funding drawn from a range of public, private and charitable trust investors, BUILD manages a range of services that include weekly social, leisure and learning activities and community based befriending for adults, integrated community based activities for young people (13-18) and specialist research, training and consultancy services.
BUILD began life in 1967 as the Wednesday Club, and in the last 10 years has expanded to offer a wider range of services that promote equality, confidence and opportunity for its members to help them make informed choices about an active community life.
BUILD today is the facilitator of four core services.
