MEMBER TO VOLUNTEER SERVICE > home
MTV stands for Members to Volunteers.
MTV are at the heart of the Wednesday Club and provide a valuable resource to all BUILD's activities. MTV Members are adults with learning difficulties who are supported to take leadership roles with the Wednesday Club.
Some of the typical things that MTV is involved in are:
-
Planning the programme of events and producing a club programme
-
Opening up the club and clearing away at the end of the evening
-
Setting up all necessary equipment
-
Running the coffee bar, disco, cookery, pool competitions
-
Supporting the Wednesday Club leader
In addition MTV Plus is a monthly programme that gives volunteers with learning difficulties the opportunity to visit community services, such as the local authority, Fire Service, behind the scenes at Castle Mall Shopping Centre, to learn more about the public services used by members as a way of sharing knowledge with the wider club membership.
Annually, MTV members come together for a training residential activity which is hotel based, and includes leisure and social activties, as well as learning new skills.

In 2006 MTV Members were awarded a Civic Award for Voluntary Service by Norwich City Council in recognistion of their work.
BUILD looks for non-disabled volunteers to support and enable MTV to work effectively
