BUILD costs around £180,000 a year to deliver the full range of services described on this website. Around half of that money comes from a Service Agreement with Norfolk County Council’s Adult Social Services department. The rest comes from appeals, donations and fund raising by staff, members, volunteers and supporters.

BUILD believes in giving value for money, and as such, seeks two types of investment.

Investing time – BUILD supports over 70 volunteers to deliver its services, but is always looking for more people to add mutual benefit to their services. BUILD is establishing links with partners in the private sector to encourage local businesses to encourage, and release staff time to invest their expertise in BUILD. This may be in individual staff volunteering, or companies donating specialist time and services.

Norwich based public relations and marketing company Fox Murphy Communications, invested around 100 hours of advice and practical aid in BUILD, valued at around £2000 worth of service. This allowed the organisation to re-brand itself and develop a range of new marketing material.

Investing Money – Donations from individuals, groups, charitable trusts or commercial concerns are vital to BUILD’s survival. Around £90,000 a year is needed to sustain current service levels.

Financial support can be arranged through a variety of sources, here are just some examples:

Sponsorship – BUILD are currently looking for corporate sponsors for its 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2007. Sponsors can be associated with a series of events including a gala dinner dance, a garden party and a range of other participative activities to celebrate BUILD’s achievements.

BUILD’s website needs annual maintenance and needs upgrading to maximise the use of its new branding. Around £2500 is needed to fund this work, which can include appropriate advertising space and sponsor alignment.
