BUILD is a Norfolk based registered charity that supports adults, and young people with learning difficulties. It is led by a peer elected trustee board formed of members with learning difficulties, and other disabilities.

Through funding drawn from a range of public, private and charitable trust investors, BUILD manages a range of services that include advocacy and training, volunteering, social, learning and leisure activities, befriending and a dedicated youth group.

BUILD began life in 1967 as the Wednesday Club, and in the last 10 years has expanded to offer a wider range of services that promote equality, confidence and opportunity for its members in their lives within an expanding community.

BUILD today is the facilitator of five core services. A weekly social, leisure and learning activity of a weekly learning and leisure club (The Wednesday Club), a community volunteer based social befriending service (BeFriends) a training, advocacy and consultancy service (STEPS), a weekly member led youth club for 13-18 year olds (Youth Group) and our Member to Volunteer service (MTV) where adults with learning difficulties are supported to run many of the activities themselves.
